âš What can Thermography do for me?
Thermography is an incredible wellness tool that can detect subtle heat patterns and physiological changes in the bodyâoften long before symptoms show up. Itâs useful for identifying and tracking over 150 conditions, including:
Inflammation and circulatory issues
Early signs of breast disease
Nerve and joint pain
TMJ and dental imbalances
Hormonal shifts and immune dysfunction
Headaches, arthritis, fibromyalgia
Early indicators of diabetes or cardiovascular concerns
And so much more
Itâs also wonderful for tracking how your body responds to treatments, showing youâin living colorâwhether therapies are bringing you back into balance.
đ« What areas of the body can be scanned?
We can image your entire body or focus on specific areas of concern. Some examples include:
Breast scans for preventative insight
Head, neck, and jaw (great for TMJ or migraine evaluation)
Low back, pelvis, and legs for lumbar assessments
Torso and arms for circulatory or inflammatory issues
Your scan can be as comprehensive or focused as your needs and goals require.
đ„ Can Thermography detect inflammation?
Yes! And this is one of the most powerful aspects of it.
Inflammation is often the earliest signal that something is off in the body. Thermography creates a visual âthermal fingerprintâ that reflects blood flow and heat emissionsâtwo markers of underlying inflammation. By detecting these signs early, we can support your body proactively, helping prevent deeper issues before they form.
đž How is Thermography different from other imaging tools?
Most medical imagingâlike mammograms, ultrasounds, and MRIsâfocuses on anatomy and structure (looking for lumps, masses, or physical damage).
Thermography is differentâit looks at function.
It shows changes in physiology, like abnormal blood vessel activity or metabolic changes that may occur before something becomes visible structurally.
This means thermography can detect early warning signs of developing disease, including cancers that arenât yet detectable through other tests. It's also not affected by dense breast tissue, hormone therapy, or implantsâmaking it a beautiful complement to your other screenings.
đ Why is breast thermography such a helpful tool?
Most cancers grow silently for years before they become big enough to be seen on a mammogram or felt by hand. Thermal imaging can pick up heat signatures and blood supply formation as early as the pinhead-sized stageâlong before it becomes the size of a pea.
Itâs also one of the only tools that can detect inflammatory breast cancer, which typically doesnât form a lump and may be missed by other screening methods.
đ Why do I need a second breast scan in 3 months?
The key to thermography is comparison over time. Your first scan gives us an initial imageâbut your second scan (done around 90 days later) shows us if anything is changing.
This two-scan process helps establish your unique thermal baseline, which we use for all future comparisons. If your pattern stays consistent, thatâs great! Youâll move into annual imaging. If we see changes, weâll explore next steps together with your full health team.
đ Is this safe for younger women?
Absolutelyâand itâs highly recommended. About 1 in 4 breast cancers occur in women under 49, and these cancers tend to be more aggressive. But younger women often arenât offered routine mammograms.
Thermography is a perfect early-prevention tool for women in their 20s, 30s, and 40sâespecially those with dense breast tissue or a family history of breast cancer.
đŒ Breast Thermography Schedule (General Guidelines):
Age 23: Baseline Thermogram
Ages 23â29: Thermogram every 3 years
Age 30 and up: Thermogram annually
High risk clients: More frequent imaging, as needed
đ” What does it cost?
Prices range from $255 to $555, depending on the region(s) scanned.
All scans are interpreted by Board Certified MDs who specialize in medical thermography, and youâll receive a full report and your imagesâusually within 48 business hours.
đ How should I prepare for my appointment?
To get the most accurate scan possible, please follow these simple guidelines:
No vigorous exercise, hot baths, or showers within 2 hours before
Avoid lotion, oils, deodorant, makeup, or shaving on the area to be scanned
No massage or sun exposure/sunburn on the day of your scan
No smoking within 2 hours of your appointment
Your body needs to be in a calm, neutral state to give us the clearest image.
đł Does insurance cover Thermography?
Thermography is considered a screening tool, not a diagnostic procedure, so most insurance plans do not cover it.
